Rain in Medellin
Site newsUnlike Astana, this tournament is held outdoors, but also faces the rain problem :). Juan Ignacio Chela barely beat Benjamin Balleret from Monaco. Not sure if Rufin is consistent enough for the old fox, but there is a little chance for an upset. Of course Capdeville had the loss written all over the draw. Begemann can continue his job against Salamanca, although the Colombian at home is always dangerous. Diego Junqueira in the first round avoided execution from Wild Card Struvay (was a break down), but in the second easily fell to Pere Riba, who seems to enjoy the conditions. Just like Santiago Gonzalez, for whom despite the whole dreadful season beating Massu isn't the only valuable score achieved in Colombia. Santiago Giraldo and Eduardo Schwank will definitely play the match of the second round. The Argentinian shouldn't be put down in this battle.
On a funny side - the tournament's website at first faced a MySQL constant error to finally start offering schedule and scores from the tournament played at the beginning of the season in another city of the same country. It was nice to see Grzegorz Panfil from Poland in a draw for a minute.
